The
Drowes is one of the best Salmon Fishing Rivers in the world. Although
only 4.5 miles long the river takes in a catchment area of 103 miles.
The river flows into Lough Melvin.

The
river is five miles (8 km) in length from Lough Melvin the Atlantic
Ocean. All legitimate methods of fishing are allowed, although some
of its pools are designated Fly only. March and April are the
best months for Spring Salmon, from May onwards the Grilse run and
it fishes best early the morning and before dusk.
The
Drowes is located in the small village of Kinlough in Co. Leitrim,
Southern Ireland on the banks of Lough Melvin and runs south of Bundoran
and is only 5 minutes walk from crest of the wave holiday homes.
